"IF" "IF" "IF" "IF", two simple letters that hold the power to change the course of our lives. Everyone, at some point, has used the word to want to alter the reality they find themselves in. Nothing happens, though, and I always say, 'If only the power of "if" could bend reality.' And what if I am the only one with the power? But what if I can't control it, or everyone has it? Life could be in doom. What if not?
Still, I sit here, reflecting on my life, reminded of the countless "IF" moments that have shaped me into the person I am today, and could have made me better or worse. I think back to the day I decided to take a different route to school. "IF" I had taken the usual route, I might have missed the opportunity to meet my best friend. We bumped into each other on that alternative route, and our lives have been intertwined ever since.
But "IF" can also be a source of regret. I remember the day I was warned not to go out; I didn't heed the warning and got robbed, living the worst, miserable eight months of my life. I'm not giving the details.
As I delve deeper into the world of "IF", I begin to realize it's not just about personal experiences. "IF" has the power to shape the course of history. What if Africa had colonized Europe? What if Nigeria was never colonized?
The concept of "IF" also raises questions about the nature of reality. Is it possible that every possibility exists in a separate universe? Are there parallel universes where different versions of ourselves are living alternate lives? Don't say I watch too many movies.
I should just conclude this, and I'm still left with more questions than answers. But perhaps that's the beauty of it. "IF" reminds us that life is full of possibilities, and every choice we make has the power to shape our destiny.
