Sometimes, I sit and wonder who’s really enjoying this country. Not just surviving or hustling to make ends meet, but actually living the soft life.
And the usual suspects come to mind - politicians, celebrities, fake creators who create nothing, yahoo boys, scammers, and those marketers who can sell anything with buzzwords like copywriting, AI, and how to make money online.
Of course, their families and friends aren’t complaining either.
But who says I’m not enjoying this country too? I mean, look at me, I’m here, eating, breathing, and laughing at my own jokes. Life’s not so bad. Still, ask me if I’d like to japa - I’ll smile and ask you to rephrase the question over and over again.
Because let’s be real, even those who say they love it here wouldn’t mind a change of scenery. Not because they hate Nigeria, but because sometimes, you just want to breathe air that isn’t heavy with survive-or-die vibes.
But until then, I’ll keep enjoying what I can, from the small wins to the occasional power supply, and hope my own “soft life” moment isn’t too far away.
At least I know a little secret "the real trick isn’t about working hard or even smart. It’s about working the system".
This is just a random rambling and musing 🤔 deeper than words can actually hold or maybe I'm just not free to explore deep down or I don't want to. Maybe until I totally breakthrough...
Anyone can say this is born out of envy, but I believe curiosity surpasses it.
I hope my peeps are cracking the code the rest of us missed, or maybe be lucky enough that the system favor them.
And I’ll keep doing what I do - creating, thinking, rambling. At least that’s real.
