This site has a social feed, and anyone can set up something similar on their site with ease.
In one of my posts, I shared how I added a social feed on this site with a custom-made script which gives me a kind of cringe 😬.
My approach is not recommendable and only works on this site.
Before settling on that approach, I experimented with some external tools that also enable you to display social content in a unified feed.
These tools are straightforward to use, they pull your posts from platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and display them in a unified feed on a single page on your site.
I believe anyone reading this knows what a social feed is. For those who don't know:
A social media feed is a real-time display of all your social media posts, updates, and interactions that aggregates content from multiple social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
The idea is simple...
On a personal website, a social media feed might pull in and showcase a user’s posts from various social platforms, creating a centralized view of their online activity.
For businesses or organizations, social feeds can be used to show real-time engagement, like customer feedback, product announcements, and marketing campaigns, all in one place.
It’s a powerful way to bring social media content directly to your website, to make it interactive, and to give visitors a fuller picture of your online presence and engagement.
Popular Tools for Embedding Social Feeds
I'm starting the list from the very first I come across a couple of years back
Elfsight
Elfsight has made it a lot of easy to integrate widgets for different kinds of sites including WordPress, Squarespace, blogger, or a static site. If your site doesn't support plugins eg some static sites and blogger sites. Elfsght has a lot of embeddable widgets in their library one of which is the social feed.
Here is my referral link for you to subscribe to elfsight with some benefits - you'll get a $15 discount on your subscription and I also get the same amount as a coupon.
On Elfsight, you can have your social feed for free as well as some other widgets.
Elfsight allows connection to Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter(X), Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, Vimeo, VK, Pinterest, Tumblr and an RSS feed.
For free, you can aggregate all your accounts from all social sources on Elsight.
The free feed comes with Elsight branding and a 2k feed page views limit that resets monthly. You can also add your custom CSS on Elfsight.
Juicer
Juicer recently came to be the most popular. Juicer is a tool built only for creating a social wall feed. It automatically imports posts from your social media accounts, organizes them in a stunning feed, and provides tools for content moderation, customization, and analysis.
Juicer supports aggregating from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Tiktok, YouTube, Vimeo, Hashtag, Flickr, Soundcloud, Giphy, Pinterest, Slack, Tumblr, and a blog RSS feed.
Juicer also has a free plan that allows creating only 1 feed, 2 sources, and hashtags.
On Juicer, you have unlimited embeds and no view count limit, and your feed would have a Juicer branding.
Once a day Juicer will go to your social media sources and pull any new posts from them; they'll then show up in your feed automatically. The more you post on social media the quicker you want this to be.
Juicer has a 7-day trial to enjoy premium features.
Curator
Curator is a free forever social media aggregator that helps you collect and display content.
Just the perks on the curator.io homepage is a wow!
All pricing plans of Curator, including the free tier, give analytics & reporting, moderation, advance filtering, notifications, unlimited admin users, stop duplicate posts, 24-hour support, and full CSS control.
It also provides 2 free add-ons for advanced user management and adding E-commerce Links
The free plan only has a limitation of adding only 3 sources, updating every 24 hours, having 2,000 views per month, and a curator.io branding.
Curator supports these sources: X(Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Slack, Vimeo, Reddit Behance, Yelp, Flickr, Deviant Art and a RSS feed.
Embed Social
Embed Social allows anyone to display Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, and Vimeo feeds on their website in seconds.
Embed Social offers a 7-day free trial and a free plan that allows users to connect only 1 Source, and 5 Widgets (Instagram widget and Google reviews widget)
Embed social also updates in 24 hours like Juicer.
POWR
Power.io is the next on this list. I met with this site just after Elfsight, they had almost everything in common. Power allows user feeds to feature posts from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter(X), YouTube, Vimeo, Pinterest, Daily Motion, Tumblr, and Flickr.
They also have a free tier that allows connecting with only one social account. It has a badge and feed page view limit too. 🫥 This is probably why I passed on using their free plan.
Common Ninja
Common Ninja offers many embeddable widgets to any site and this includes a social feed widget too.
Common Ninja free plan offers only 1 widget Instance, 1 project, 300 monthly pageviews, and no collaborators.
Common Ninja only allows aggregating from Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and RSS feed.
Yes, share this is a popular social sharing widget used on many sites including this one or once upon a time.
Share this also has a social feed widget that can be embedded in any site.
It's free to use, easy to install, and quick to customize.🥲 It's powered by powr.
All of the tools I listed are easy to use. They all give a single line of embed code to add to the page on your site where the social feed would be displayed.
Bonus
You can try walls.io or taggbox.com. Both are great they only offer free trials
I hope this post was helpful. Thanks for reading and happy site management.
